Our Sustainability Initiatives
At ibis Styles Melbourne Southbank, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving the way we operate. Through considered choices across our accommodation, COOP Bar & Cafe, meetings and day-to-day hotel operations, we aim to create a more sustainable stay for our guests while supporting a more responsible future for Melbourne.
Reducing Single-Use Plastics
We are working to reduce and remove single-use plastics wherever possible throughout the hotel. Our initiatives include:
- Full-sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers in guest rooms, reducing the need for individual single-use amenity bottles.
- Guest amenities such as shower caps, vanity kits and toothbrushes available on request and provided in recycled or more sustainable packaging where possible.
- Removal of plastic straws and single-use plastic cups where possible.
- Reducing the use of single-use plastic water bottles throughout the hotel.
Energy Efficiency
We continue to look for ways to improve energy efficiency throughout ibis Styles Melbourne Southbank. Initiatives such as LED lighting and energy-conscious operational practices help us reduce unnecessary energy consumption while maintaining a comfortable experience for our guests.

Recycling & Waste Reduction
Recycling practices are in place across our hotel operations to help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and encourage more responsible waste management.
Our team continues to identify opportunities to minimise unnecessary waste across guest rooms, food and beverage operations, meetings and back-of-house areas.

Our commitment to sustainability extends to COOP Bar & Cafe. We continue to explore ways to reduce unnecessary food and packaging waste, make considered purchasing decisions and support Australian suppliers where possible.
